A abordagem do projeto SoundScapes à educação STEAM segue os quatro passos do Design Thinking (inspirados na iniciativa Design for Change): Sentir – Imaginar – Criar e Partilhar[1][2][3][4] Quer se dedique a um projeto breve ou extenso, que pode variar entre algumas horas e um ano inteiro, estes passos permanecem constantes. É importante reconhecer que, à semelhança de muitos processos artísticos, esta não é sempre uma jornada estritamente linear; ocasionalmente, poderá alternar entre as fases Sentir – Imaginar – Criar e Partilhar.
